Created in 2002 by Marco Cherqui, Chic Films is committed to developing and producing original feature films and TV programs that are engaging both on aesthetic and commercial levels. Producer Lauranne Bourrachot joined Marco and the company at an early stage. With Chic Films, they have built a talented roster of scriptwriters, directors and actors with whom they work on innovative cinema and TV projects.
Chic Films has notably co-produced with Why Not Productions and Page 114 A Prophet, directed by Jacques Audiard from an original screenplay by Abdel Raouf Dafri and Nicolas Peufaillit, commissioned and developed by Chic Films. Among other important prizes, the film won the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2009, Best Film Not in the English Language at the 2010 BAFTA Awards, as well as nine Cesar Awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Rising Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Set Design and Best Film Editing. A Prophet was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 Oscar Academy Awards.
Chic Films is also involved in the development of TV series like Kabul Kitchen, a comedy set in Kabul, broadcast by Canal +.

Marco started his career as a prolific music video and documentary producer, specializing in the connection between music and moving images. Having produced a large number of video clips, concert captures, thematic events, Marco brought into the universe of music clips several confirmed film directors, such as Jacques Audiard, Laetitia Masson, Xavier Duringer, Claire Denis, Mathieu Amalric and Arnaud Desplechin. Marco also created at this period a music label specialized in rap, in association with Mathieu Kassovitz.
In 2002, Marco founded Chic Films, a production company committed to developing and producing original feature films and TV programs that are engaging both on aesthetic and commercial levels.
After graduating from prestigious Sciences-Po Paris school in 1991, Lauranne Bourrachot began working in the film and TV industry as a line producer producer on several cartoon TV series and a business affairs executive on feature films and TV series, administrating co-production deals between French companies and foreign partners. In 2000 Lauranne received the «promising producer» grant and award from the Jean-Luc Lagardère trust. When Chic Films was created in 2002, she joined Marco Cherqui as an associate producer. Together, they commissioned and developed many projects, including the script for A Prophet which was later successfully directed by Jacques Audiard.
In 2010 Lauranne was elected as French « Producer On the Move » by Unifrance and European Film Promotion.
