Moacyr is the founder and director of the Brasil Day STL (street festival in Missouri), Brasil Fest Chicago (street festival in Illinois), Chicago Samba (non-profit organizations promoting Brazilian culture), and he leads Samba Bom (Samba dance band in St. Louis) and Choro Guys (Chorinho band in St. Louis).
For several years, Moacyr has taught percussion classes and workshops for elementary schools, secondary schools, universities and community groups in the Midwest, Brazil, and Europe.
